Dixon Place Presents The Guerrilla Lit Reading Series
We are pleased to announce that our reading scheduled for Wednesday, November 28 will feature Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan, SJ Rozan, and Levis Keltner.
The reading will occur in the lounge at Dixon Place at 7:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public.
Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan is a New York-based journalist and author of Sarong Party Girls as well as A Tiger In The Kitchen: A Memoir of Food & Family. She is the editor of the fiction anthology Singapore Noir. She was a staff writer at the Wall Street Journal, In Style magazine and the Baltimore Sun. Her stories have also appeared in The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Washington Post, Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, National Geographic, Foreign Policy, Newsweek, Chicago Tribune, and The Singapore Straits Times among other places.
SJ Rozan, a native New Yorker, is the author of fifteen novels and five dozen short stories. Her work has won the Edgar, Shamus, Anthony, Nero, and Macavity awards for Best Novel and the Edgar for Best Short Story. She’s also the recipient of the Japanese Maltese Falcon Award and recently received the Life Achievement Award from the Private Eye Writers of America. BRONX NOIR, a short story anthology SJ edited, was chosen as a Notable Book of the Year. SJ has served on the National Boards of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime, and is ex-President of the Private Eye Writers of America. She speaks, lectures and teaches, and she runs a summer writing workshop at the Art Workshop International in Assisi, Italy.
Levis Keltner is a writer, musician, editor, and educator from Chicago living in Austin, Texas. He is the author of Into That Good Night. His short work has appeared in Entropy Magazine and Bull: Men’s Fiction. He is the editor-in-chief of Newfound and teaches writing at Texas State University.
The Dixon Place Lounge is open before, during and after the show. Bar proceeds directly support DP’s artists and mission.
