Dixon Place Presents The Guerrilla Lit Reading Series

We are pleased to announce that our reading scheduled for Wednesday, October 31 is a special night with C&R Press. This event features Jacob M. Appel, Laura Catherine Brown, and Brian Leung.

The reading will occur in the lounge at Dixon Place at 7:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Jacob M. Appel is the author of three literary novels including Millard Salter’s Last Day, seven short story collections, an essay collection, a cozy mystery, a thriller and a volume of poems. He currently teaches at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. More at www.jacobmappel.com

Laura Catherine Brown is the author of two novels, Made By Mary, published by C&R Press, and Quickening, published by Random House and featured in Barnes & Noble’s Discover Great New Writers series. Her short stories have appeared in several literary journals, including The Bellingham Review, Monkeybicycle, Paragraphiti and Tin House, and in anthologies with Seal Press and Overlook Press.

Brian Leung, author of Ivy vs. Dogg: With a Cast of Thousands!, World Famous Love Acts, Lost Men, and Take me Home, is a past recipient of the Lambda Literary outstanding Mid-Career Novelist Prize. Other honors include the Asian-American Literary Award, Willa Award, and the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction. Brian’s fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in Story, Ocean State Review, Crazyhorse, The Barcelona Review, The Bellingham Review, The Connecticut Review, Blithe House Quarterly, Indiana Review, and Crowd. He is the current Director of Creative Writing at Purdue University.

The Dixon Place Lounge is open before, during and after the show. Bar proceeds directly support DP’s artists and mission.
